every BURGERS Death Notice in the Cape Archives, photographed by Sarel Burger Nearly all South Africans surnamed Burger or Burgers descend from the same common ancestor, but the two separate surnames have become established. Where the death notice was registerd under a surname other than Burger or Burgers, for example that of a married woman born Burger, the death notice has been not been included in this section but under the surname of registration.
